Liebl Marketing: Take Two

Deerest You,

I’m another year older, another year wiser (some would argue this I’m sure), and I’ve started another year of J Term interning with Liebl Marketing Group in downtown Des Moines.

Last year, I started this internship as a sophomore in college. I walked in timid and anxious, unsure of my abilities and whether I would satisfy the criteria. I walked away from the internship with more confidence, a lot of lessons, and a part time job offer for the summer. I’ve since worked spring break, summer, and part time remote from school for LMG. As I considered my options for my last (LAST?!) J Term internship, I kept coming back to this one. I wanted to branch out, try something new, maybe go out of state, but there was just a part of me that said I needed to come “home” to the job I know and love.

I’ve completed my first week back as an “intern” (I use the term loosely because I’m technically an employee too) and I know I’ve made the right decision. Walking into the office took me back to my first day as a nervous sophomore. It made me smile to know how much I’ve grown since then, greeting my boss with a cheery ‘hello’ and taking my place at my desk.

This week I’ve created and scheduled Facebook posts for a couple of clients, helped create a presentation for 2018 marketing plans, talked with a Spotify rep about running ads for a client, and researched Snapchat and Instagram ads for a meeting with a client on Monday. Oh, and my boss brought me birthday bagels. This job has its perks. Next week is sure to be busy already but I can’t wait to be back in the office.

I anticipate another chalked full, always changing J Term internship that’ll come with more career lessons, more learning, a lot of hands on experience, and a lot of fun. And I can’t wait to take it all on. Cheers to 2018 and a cool job! *Clink*

Until next time readers.

Yours Truly,

Kylee
